The unguided bite registration requires a skilled dentist and a patient with a reliable coordination. Manipulations during bite registrations are a popular technique, but they usually induce additional muscle tension and do not resolve them, as can readily be attested to by EMG measurements.
The FreeBite Bite Registration System allows the patient to rest his jaw on a soft FreeBite air while the dentist checks different aspects of the bite position. Once the correct orthopedic position is attained, the bite position is indexed at the appropriate heigth with fast-setting silicone applied between the lateral incisors and canines. During the bite registration with the FreeBite solid this silicone key is used to insure that the same jaw position results. FreeBite Bite Registration Sets are available in four different heigths:
-
low (1x FreeBite air low + 1x FreeBite solid)
-
medium (1x FreeBite air medium + 1x FreeBite solid)
-
high (1x FreeBite air high + 1x FreeBite solid)
-
ultrahigh (1x FreeBite air ultrahigh + 1x FreeBite solid)
The set contains an instruction manual in German and plastic storage boxes. The FreeBites are hygienically sealed.
