Human Exposure to Aluminum
Christopher Exley is professor in Bioinorganic Chemistry at the Birchall Centre Lennard-Jones Laboratory, Keele University in Staffordshire, UK. He holds a PhD in the exotoxicology of aluminium from the University of Stirling.
Since 1984 his research focusses on the paradox that the third most abundant element of the Earth‘s crust (aluminium) is largely non- essential and inimical to life. Silicon as the second most abundant element of the Earth‘s crust is also a focus of his research since it appears to be lacking any biological function as well.
Except for the possible function to keep aluminium out of biology!
