This dome is the result of a series of measurements at the Institute for Temporo-Mandibular Rehulation and is a new development of its own for the analysis of the occlusal course in toothed upper jaws. Since the course of the occlusal plane is actually defined by the functional cusps of the lower teeth or their incisal edges, the anterior teeth of this dome are omitted; only the posterior teeth are supported on the arch with a radius of 200 mm.
Another new feature is a bearing slot with which the dome can be aligned to the palatal suture so that it can also be used without the HIP mount. However, the recess on the back corresponds to the groove on the HIP-Mount mounting table, so that it also functions as an accessory for the HIP-Mount.
